LOGANVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A portion of southbound Interstate 83 in York County will be closed for a few hours on June 19 at around 9 p.m. as officials conduct an investigation related to the death of Loganville Volunteer Fire Company Chief Rodney Miller.

The closure will be just south of the Loganville interchange (Exit 10) in southern York County for a few hours on Wednesday night.

Drivers traveling south will be detoured at the Loganville exit, directed south onto the Susquehanna Trail (State Route 3001), and then returned to southbound I-83 at the Shrewsbury interchange (Exit 4).

During that time authorities will conduct an investigation related to the April 27 hit-and-run death of Fire Chief Miller, who was directing traffic along southbound I-83 at the time of his death.

The southbound interstate closure should last two to three hours. Officials ask that drivers stay alert, slow down and follow the signs and directions around the closure.
