Coroner: York death was accidental drowning

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

A man who died in the Codorus Creek in York was the victim of an accidental drowning, according to investigators.

An autopsy Saturday indicated that 50-year-old Daniel J. Wise died of fresh water drowning and a contributing factor is coronary artery disease, according to the York County coroner's office.

Wise's body was pulled from the creek Friday afternoon near the 200 block of W. Philadelphia Street.

Investigators said that according to his family, Wise was homeless.
