Harrisburg's 11th homicide caused by domestic dispute

Police are investigating a late night homicide in downtown Harrisburg, the shooting is Harrisburg's 11th homicide of 2013.

One man is dead and another behind bars. Both men are related to one woman, who spoke to abc 27 news on Sunday.

It happened outside the Pub Bar in the area of Market and Dewberry Streets around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Officials say the cause is a domestic dispute and our source confirmed the shooting was personal.

She told us she was out at the local bar with the shooter and another friend.

She identified Theodore Meriweather Junior, of Dauphin County as the shooter and according to court paperwork, he is in Dauphin County prison tonight charged with murder.

According to the woman, her husband was entering the bar and saw the shooter. The two men exchanged words and the shooter went outside.

Her husband followed him and the confrontation continued. Meriweather went to his car, grabbed a gun and shot the victim in the chest. 

The victim was taken to Harrisburg Hospital where he died. 

The shooting is the city's eleventh homicide so far this year. Police say they are trying to keep the public safe. "We do the best we can. We try to prevent the crime that we can prevent," said Captain Annette Oates of Harrisburg Police.
