HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Harrisburg police were set to announce a new substation this afternoon but the city canceled the event 30 minutes prior to the news conference.

A press release from Mayor Linda Thomspon's office sent at 9 a.m. Tuesday said there would be a press conference to announce the opening of the substation at noon. An email sent at 11:33 a.m. canceled the press conference.

It is unclear when the substation will open but it was visible Tuesday morning inside the Hess Gas Station on the corner of Market and Cameron Streets.

A call to Harrisburg Police was not immediately returned Tuesday morning.
