Strong winds, heavy rains cause severe damage

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Another day in the 90's brought about another round of severe weather sweeping through the Midstate. Strong winds and heavy rains caused major damage in a Dauphin County neighborhood.

Two homes at the end of Beaucrest Street were left stranded after a neighbor's large tree fell during a quick-moving storm.

"I thought a train was coming through my living room and trees were going to come through my house and I was just waiting for it to be over," homeowner Dara Jacobs said.

Strangely enough, the damage was limited to less than a dozen homes in the neighborhood, which some residents are now calling "Tornado Alley."

"We had something similar to this about 10 years ago," homeowner Garry Ruper said. "It hit here, and then it hopped and hit over by Walmart."

There is no word yet on whether the National Weather Service will come out to survey the damage.
