Senator Tim Kaine's Wife Visits Danville Community College

Posted:

Danville, VA - Former first lady of Virginia Anne Holton was in Danville Thursday to meet with Danville Community College's Great Expectations Group.

The program was launched in 2008 at five community colleges to help foster children finish high school and gain access to a college education.

Senator Tim Kaine's wife, Anne Holton, toured DCC and met with President Carlyle Ramsey before participating in a fitness class with the group led by Get Fit Dan River.

As Program Director Holton says she hopes to meet with the other Great Expectations groups throughout the state.

"I'm going to be meeting with the students and some of the faculty who work with them, and asking them how can we help improve the program, how can we help these kids be even more successful together, " Holton said.

She ended her Danville visit by filming a segment for the show "What's Cooking on the Dan" at God's Storehouse.
