Erie, PA – Taylor Hill tossed seven solid innings, but the Senators mustered only three hits, and Erie took the series opener 1-0. It was the second consecutive game that the Senators have been shut out.
The lone run of the game came on a one-out solo home run in the second inning from Tyler Collins. Hill scattered six hits over his seven innings of work, walked one, and struck out three. Aaron Barrett came on to pitch a scoreless eighth inning out of the Senators bullpen.
Drew VerHagen earned the win with eight shutout innings for the SeaWolves. The right-hander didn't walk a batter and struck out two.
The first Senators hit came in the sixth inning, as Jose Lozada tripled with one out, ending a string of 18 innings without a hit for Harrisburg. The best threat for the Senators came in the eighth inning, when they put runners on first and third with nobody out, but a double play ended the potential rally.
