Flash Flooding Possible Today

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through late tonight for most of the viewing area. Any storms that develop could contain heavy downpours resulting in flash flooding.

Today and Wednesday the combination of tropical moisture and small disturbances results in continued scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms will contain heavy downpours, which could produce flash flooding. While we will have plenty of clouds, expect some breaks of sunshine. Highs in the low to mid 80s.

Independence Day will be partly sunny, warm and humid, with hit or miss thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. Friday into the upcoming weekend turns drier and sunnier. Afternoon temperatures increase, as highs top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
