SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The pastor of a Franklin County church is headed to county court on charges he downloaded and shared child pornography over the Internet.

Keith Ryan Bell, 53, of Shippensburg, waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday before District Judge Anthony Adams, who set a formal arraignment in Cumberland County Court for September 26.

Bell, the pastor of the Church of God in Upper Strasburg, was arrested last month by agents from the Attorney General's Child Predator Section.

According to the criminal complaint, Bell allegedly viewed three images of children engaged in sexually graphic acts and poses, which he downloaded from a file sharing network.

When investigators confronted him, Bell told them had seen child pornography on his computer but did not know how it got there. He said he used the sharing program to download music for his daughter's wedding, the complaint states.

Bell waived for court the five charges against him, including three counts of distribution of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

He is currently free on $150,000 bail.
