The fireworks may have started early, but plenty of people were ready to watch the patriotic pyrotechnics fill the sky over the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg the 4th of July.
Some showed up hours in advance to land a front row seat for all the action.
One large group of family and friends from Myerstown showed up four hours early to continue the holiday tradition.
"We like the ones with a lot of color and a lot of noise. It's sort of an evening off for us," Larry Diller said.
They city expected thousands to attend.
The Harrisburg Senators were set to fire off the first fireworks after a game, then the city took over for a display of its own.
