Police: woman, 41, punched in face during home invasion

State police in Lancaster are investigating a home invasion in which a 41-year-old woman was attacked in her sleep.

It happened between 2:30 and 3:00 Saturday morning at a home on Refton Road in Strasburg Township.

According to troopers, a male entered the unlocked residence and proceeded to an upstairs bedroom where the woman was sleeping. He punched her in the face several times, and then pinned her down to the bed.

During the assault, the woman's 16-year-old son came upstairs, at which point the suspect told him he had a gun and ran downstairs and out the door he came in. As he was running away, troopers said the suspect pointed at the teen and said "bang" as a he fled the residence.

The suspect is described as 30-40 years old, medium build, with dark short hair. He was wearing a dark collared shirt and dark pants.
