A woman was rescued from her car this morning after a power line fell on her vehicle.
Perry County Dispatchers said the woman stayed put insider her car, at 1810 Fairground Road in Liverpool, Juniata County lines, while help arrived.
If you car comes in contact with a downed power line, you should not attempt to leave the vehicle, according to the Electrical Safety Foundation International. Downed power lines can carry an electric current strong enough to cause serious injury or even death.
"If you must leave your car because it is on fire, jump out of the vehicle
with both feet together and avoid contact with both the car and the
ground at the same time. Shuffle away from the car," the foundation said on its website.
Dispatchers believe the line fell around 11 a.m. during a storm.
