Women report assaults at Harrisburg area apartments

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in suburban Harrisburg are investigating two indecent assaults that occurred at neighboring apartment complex parking lots over the weekend.

Lower Paxton Township police said a female resident of the Eagle Crest Apartments was indecently touched by a male who approached her from out of the shadows at approximately 11:20 p.m. Saturday.

She described her attacker as a heavy set, light complected black male who was wearing shorts, a blue shirt and high-top basketball shoes, police said.

The second incident occurred Sunday before midnight in the Lakewood Hills Apartments, where a female was assaulted in the same manner by a similarly described person who was wearing black shorts with white stripes and a white T-shirt, according to police.

The victim in the second case further described him as being in his 20's, 5'7" to 6' tall, and having black curly hair, police said.

In both cases, the male fled on foot between buildings of the complexes.

Police told abc27 they have aggressive patrols in place and are confident they will make an arrest.

"Obviously we don't want another victim of this particular thing, but we never know if this is the beginning of something worse," Lt. Gary Seefeldt said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lower Paxton Township Police Department at (717) 657-5656, the department's anonymous tip line at (717) 724-8317 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 262-3080.
