BAINBRIDGE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have arrested a Lancaster County man for the alleged rape of a mentally disabled woman.

Harold Jay Andrews, 72, of Bainbridge, was taken into custody last week and arraigned on counts of rape by forcible compulsion, rape of a mentally disabled person and tampering with evidence, according to court documents.

Susquehanna Regional police said the tampering charge stemmed from the burning of evidence in the case.

Police allege the rape occurred at Andrews's home in the 1200 block of Amosite Road during the past year.

He has been released on $100,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 30.
