Tires flattened on 48 cars at auto dealer

MANHEIM, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating a crime where tires on 48 vehicles were flattened at a used auto dealer in Lancaster County.

Northern Lancaster County Regional police said every vehicle on the lot was damaged overnight Friday at Johnson's Used Cars, at 2279 Newport Road in Penn Township.

Most of the vehicles had at least three, if not all tires damaged, and the cost of replacement was estimated at around $20,000, police said.

Authorities refused to say how the tires were damaged due to the possibility of compromising the investigation.

They said they have a 'person of interest' in the case, but are asking for information from anyone who may know anything about the crime.

Anyone with tips may call the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department at 717-733-0965.
