Pittsylvania Co., VA - A Pittsylvania County man who drove his car into a home, setting it on fire, and killing the family's dog will spend three years in prison.

At his trial last November, Ricky Dean Tate was found guilty of crashing a stolen Dodge Durango into Judy and James Widner's home last April.

Tate admitted to having a drug problem and apologized.

Officials say his license is also suspended indefinitely.
