Police have charged three young men in a series of robberies and assaults next to the Millersville University campus in February.
Court documents identify the defendants as 19-year-olds Brian Alexis Torres and Dequann William Gantt, and 18-year-old Marcos M. Rojas Jr., all of Lancaster.
The three allegedly were among six people involved in a "mob-style attack" on several young people in the Hillview Avenue apartment complex area during the early morning of February 2. The court papers do not identify any other defendants.
The charging papers state that one of the victims was chased down and then punched and kicked by several people until he was left unconscious on the sidewalk, and was then robbed of his cell phone. A friend of the victim was attacked by the group when he tried to intervene.
Another victim told police that when he came upon the fight, he was grabbed from behind and robbed of his cell phone and a portable music player. Two others tried to stop the suspects and both were assaulted, the documents state.
A sixth victim identified in the documents told police she was grabbed by the hair from behind and robbed of her cell phone.
Gantt was charged with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault and riot.
Rojas and Torres were charged with two counts of simple assault and riot. Rojas was additionally charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy.
