UPDATE: 4:44 p.m.

Roanoke, VA - Very heavy thunderstorms are moving through the Roanoke Valley and will continue to move east into parts of Central Virginia, including the Bedford and Lynchburg areas, into the evening.

Some of the storms could easily produce isolated flash flooding and high winds.

Southside Virginia could also see severe weather later this evening, from 6-8 p.m.

---------------------

Roanoke, VA - A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for western sections of our region through this evening. Storms that develop are likely to have very heavy downpours, which could result in flash flooding.

This afternoon will be mostly to partly cloudy, warm and humid, with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing during the day.

Any storms that develop could become strong.

Like we've witnesses over the past several weeks, areas of heavy rain could quickly produce flash flooding. Tonight the evening thundershowers should come to an end.

Overnight will be mostly cloudy and muggy, with patchy fog. Lows near 68.

Tuesday and Wednesday expect more scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny skies warm afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Late week becomes somewhat drier, with only isolated thundershowers possible. Highs in the mid 80s. Right now this weekend looks to bring seasonal conditions and more hit or miss thunderstorms.

Stay with the ABC 13 Weather Experts for the latest on the forecast.
