MYERSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have announced a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the robbery of a Myerstown bank last week.

State police in Jonestown on Monday announced the reward and released additional information about the crime.

The Northwest Savings Bank at 1 West Main Street was robbed Tuesday morning by a man wearing a white T-shirt and a black bandanna tied around his head.

He handed the teller a note demanding money and fled with an undetermined amount of cash. He was last seen running north on Railroad Street, police said.

Investigators said the robber has multiple tattoos on his body, including both arms. The tattoo on the left arm appears to have red and green coloring in it and may possibly be a "sleeve" type tattoo.

Authorities said he may be driving a black, "sporty" type, older model vehicle.

Similar robberies have occurred in Berks, Chester and Northampton counties, police said.

Anyone with information may call state police in  Jonestown at 717-865-2194 or Crime Stoppers at 717-270-9800.
