Man headed to trial on 12th DUI

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

A York County man is headed to trial on his 12th DUI offense.

Keith Rohrer Sr., 47, of Springettsbury Township, waived all charges during a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Barry Bloss.

He was then returned to York County Prison where his bail is set a $50,000 cash. A formal arraignment in county court for set for August 23.

According to the criminal complaint, Rohrer on July 6 was seen erratically driving a motorcycle on the wrong side of North Sherman Street and eventually stopped in the area of Memory Lane.

A police officer who went to investigate said Rohrer walked to his motorcycle and tried to start the engine, but the officer pulled the keys from the ignition, the document states.

Rohrer claimed he had four beers, but sobriety tests were discontinued for Rohrer's safety because he was nearly stumbling into traffic, police said in the document.

The court papers stated that Rohrer has been was convicted of DUI seven times in the past decade.

His license had been suspended and, before the additional charges, Rohrer wouldn't have been eligible to get it back until 2063.
