Harrisburg police are investigating a report that a 17-year-old city girl was sexually assaulted in an Allison Hill alleyway early Thursday.
The teen told investigators that she was walking home from a friend's house at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday when she noticed a man following her as she passed 16th and Market streets, police said in a news release.
She said the stranger approached her near N. 16th and Apricot streets and threatened her with a metal pole, then forced her into the alleyway and sexually assaulted her, according to police.
The teen said the man then told her to leave, and she ran home and called for police. She was later taken to a hospital for care and evidence collection, authorities said.
She described her attacker as a man in his 20's, 5'10" tall, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandana to cover his face.
