Shippensburg man faces DUI, child endangerment charges

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Charges of DUI and child endangerment are pending against a Shippensburg man after a crash Wednesday evening in Cumberland County, according to police.

Michael M. Johnson, 50, was intoxicated and had a 12-year-old passenger when he drove his pickup truck off the 1100 block of Petersburg Road in South Middleton Township, state police in Carlisle said.

The 1998 Ford Ranger then slid into a culvert for a small stream.

Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt and received minor injuries, police said.

The 12-year-old boy in the passenger seat was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
