MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are asking for help in identifying a woman who allegedly acted as an accomplice to a theft at a Walmart store in Cumberland County.

Silver Spring Township police said the unknown woman distracted the victim inside the Carlisle Pike store Sunday evening while a man, later identified as Dustin Roeting, stole the purse from the victim's shopping cart.

Several customers chased down Roeting and detained him until officers arrived, police said.

Roeting, 29, of Harrisburg, was charged with robbery, conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault and disorderly conduct, but he refuses to cooperate in identifying his accomplice, police said.

Police have released surveillance photos so that someone may recognize the woman.

Anyone with information may call the Silver Spring Township Police Department at 717-697-0607.
