A young Lancaster boy was burned in a house fire Thursday.

The toddler, who was not identified, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital and later flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center near Philadelphia for treatment of burns to his arms and face.

Firefighters responded to the Green Street home just before 3 p.m. and found the occupants of the house had gotten out safely. A 21-year-old, a 13-year-old and the toddler were all standing outside.

Lancaster Fire Captain David Longenetker said the 13-year-old was on the second floor of the home when the fire started. He alerted his 21-year-old brother that the fire was on the third floor of the home, and the older brother went to the third floor and rescued his young son.

The father and his brother were not seriously injured.

The fire was under control by 3:20 p.m.

Damage was contained to the attic on the third floor.
