BOWMANSDALE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 21-year-old woman was arrested after Cumberland County police say she was driving under the influence and struck an unidentified fixed object.

Upper Allen Police responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on July 31 at around 9 a.m. along the 2500 block of South Market Street.

The driver, 21-year-old Ashley Hanley of Mechanicsburg, told police she was driving north on South Market Street in Bowmansdale when she crossed the roadway and struck an object.

Hanley told officers that she was attempting to avoid a crash with an oncoming vehicle.

She was not injured, and during the investigation police said she displayed signs of intoxication.

Hanley was arrested at the scene for DUI and transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing.
