Dream dog park unveiled in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A new dream dog park at Buchanan Park has been officially marked.

The paradise for man's best friend opened Tuesday with everything a dog could ask for.

"There is really nothing this park doesn't have," Beneful Dream Team member Jason Cameron said. "How can you be a dog, come in here and not love this park?"

The park was designed to look like an amusement park with a roller coaster bridge, a splash pad to keep cool in the dog days of summer, a custom tennis ball dispensing tree and even water fountains designed just for dogs.

"There is a lot to keep the dogs occupied," Cameron said.

Beneful dog's park contest winner was Lancaster's own Angela Bauman.

"I was amazed that I could win this," she said. "You enter contests all the time but you never think you could win something, so it's an unreal feeling to win something like this."

Dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds had no problem getting their paws wet. Sue Spisak and her dog Cooper came from Millersville to check out the park.

"I have never seen anything so amazing before," she said. "It's a great opportunity for people to be around their dogs and other's dogs for socialization."

For good measure, August 6 will now be known as Beneful Dream Dog Park Day in Lancaster.
