I-81 ramp in Harrisburg to close Sunday

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

PennDOT's planning to make some changes to some of the Interstate 81 ramps in Harrisburg this weekend.

The ramp from northbound Front Street to Interstate 81 southbound will reopen Sunday night for the first time since May.

As soon as the ramp is opened, the ramp from southbound I-81 to Front Street at Exit 66 will be closed for up to three months.

This work is part of a project to repair the bridges over northbound Front Street.

The official detour will direct drivers further south on I-81 across the Susquehanna River to the Exit 65 interchange with Route 11/15, then south on Route 11/15 toward Enola, and then onto northbound I-81 back across the George N. Wade Memorial Bridge and the river to the off-ramp to Front Street on the East Shore.
