Lebanon Co. teacher accused of having sex with student

A band director at Eastern Lebanon County High School in Myerstown is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

State police said 44-year-old Kenneth Krause was employed by ELCO High School when he began engaging in a sexual relationship with the male juvenile between August 15, 2012 and June 21, 2013 when the victim was 16/17.

According to authorities, the incidents took place at the school and at Krause's home in Lancaster County.

Dr. David Zuilkoski, ELCO's superintendent, originally contacted state police, told them that he had learned of the relationship and asked officials to investigate.

Authorities spoke with the victim, who said the majority of the encounters took place at the high school and estimated it had happened over 100 times.

According to police, Krause admitted to officials that he had had a sexual relationship with the juvenile.

Krause was charged with institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.
