Woman charged in $1,700 grocery store theft

SHREWSBURY, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Glen Rock woman has been charged in the theft of more than $1,700 in groceries from a York County food store.

Cristy Lynn Frantz, 38, filled two grocery carts with various items and walked out of the Giant food store in Shrewsbury on August 1 without paying, according to Southern Regional police.

She was charged this week with retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said Frantz took various meats, diapers, drinks, household cleaning products, kitty litter, dog and cat food, a cooler, paper products, and various food items totaling $1,740.56.

She was stopped outside the store by an employee, police said.
