A Maryland man is headed to trial for the attempted homicide of a 21-year-old Shippensburg woman.
Joseph Russell Sine, 25, of Clinton, waived his preliminary hearing Monday and allowed the charges against him to proceed to Cumberland County Court.
A formal arraignment was set for Oct. 24.
Authorities accuse Sine of forcing his way inside the woman's home in the 100 block of Roxbury Road and assaulting her Aug. 14.
The woman was lying on the ground when officers responded to her home, and had suffered injuries which required her to be transported to a hospital, police said.
In addition to attempted homicide, Sine has been charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, stalking and simple assault.
He remains in the Cumberland County Prison without bail.
