LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) -

A woman counting several hundred dollars in front of a Lebanon store was assaulted and robbed by a man with a gun, city police said Wednesday.

The 18-year-old victim said the man grabbed the cash from her hand as she sat on the steps of the store at 10th and Lehman streets Tuesday afternoon.

When she resisted, she told investigators that the man threw her to the ground and took off with her money, police said.

A woman who witnessed the crime followed the robber in her vehicle and called police, but the man pulled a gun from his waistband, pointed it at the woman and threatened her, police said.

Mario Medina, 29, of Lebanon, was eventually located at a home in the 1300 block of Church Street and was positively identified as the robber, police said.

The cash was not on him, but police said they recovered a gun that had been reported stolen in the city last summer.

Police said they also found ten individually packaged bags of marijuana on Medina.

Medina was charged with robbery, simple assault, receiving stolen property, persons not to possess a firearm, and possession with intent to deliver.

He was arraigned and placed in the Lebanon County prison on $250,000 bail.
