Police in Dillsburg warn of a rash of handgun burglaries

DILLSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Carroll Township Police say the Dillsburg area has been experiencing a rash of burglaries and thefts from vehicles involving handguns.

According to officials, on August 14 a car was entered in the 100 block of Evergreen Circle in the Holly Hills neighborhood. Two handguns were taken.

Also in that neighborhood, another vehicle was entered on August 21 along the 100 block of Martel Circle. Two handguns were taken. Both cars were unsecured, and both crimes occurred at night.

A home was entered in the 600 block of Chestnut Grove Road on August 20. Once again, two handguns were taken. The individual (or individuals) entered the home during the daytime through a rear door.

Police said an unsecured business was entered during the daytime on August 19 along the 200 block of Chestnut Grove Road. Two handguns were taken.

And an attempted burglary through a side window occurred on Pine Street on August 20. The person was unable to get inside.
