A Newville-area man was arrested Wednesday night after he pulled a gun on a driver who had stopped near his home to use a cell phone, police said.
State police said 50-year-old Rodney Haubert had a shotgun and a camera when he approached the vehicle pulled to the side of Roxbury Road in Lower Mifflin Township.
Haubert began taking pictures of the vehicle, and when questioned told the driver that he was on private property, police said.
Authorities said he then pointed the shotgun at the driver, identified by police as 19-year-old Wade Bear, also of Newville.
Bear told Haubert to put the gun down and that he was going to contact police. Haubert then walked back to his home and fired the gun while near his porch, authorities said.
Nobody was injured and Bear's vehicle was not struck.
Troopers responded and took Haubert into custody without incident.
He was charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, and harassment.
