If your dog likes to swim, they've got a place to go this weekend. Friends of the Lynchburg Dog Park is holding the second annual Paws in the Pool event at Miller Park pool Saturday. It'll be a great way to wrap up the summer—that's 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. in Lynchburg. Tickets are $20.
Saturday night, a huge pioneer of the country rap movement will be in Lynchburg. Bubba Sparxxx will be on stage at phase 2! You may remember his first single "Ugly" back 2001. Now, he's reuniting with some of his old collaborators. The concert is $10.
There are also some benefit events going on in weekend.
In Concord, DeVault Family Vineyards is stepping in to help a Rustburg family after a terrible car accident. Jamie Johnson's wife was killed in that crash, and he was paralyzed. This Saturday, there will be a benefit concert at the vineyard from 3 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
And Elvis is in the Building…for the Building! A local Elvis impersonator will perform at a benefit for the Amherst County Habitat for Humanity tAugust 24. There will be wine tastings, prizes and an auction. Tickets are $30 dollars and that's at 6 p.m. at the Clifford Ruritan Club.
