Police: Man arrested for altered gun, heroin

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster man was arrested for having a loaded rifle that was modified for concealment, police said.

Jose Ortiz-Cintron, 21, was seen pulling the gun from the waistband of his pants early Friday by camera operators from the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition, according to city police.

Officers located him and seized the Marlin XT-22 Rifle, which had a shortened stock and a barrel cut to about 12 inches, police said.

Ortiz-Cintron, who does not have a license to carry a concealed firearms, was arrested and also found to have a small plastic baggie of heroin, police said.

He was charged with firearm and drug crimes and sent to Lancaster County Prison on $10,000 bail.
