Lancaster City police say a 17-year-old threatened to assault a victim outside a Lancaster barber shop over the victim's cell phone.
Police say the victim had his cell phone in his hand when he left a barber shop on New Dorwart Street and was approached by the suspect. The victim says the suspect threatened to assault the victim if he didn't hand over his phone. When the victim refused, the suspect grabbed the victim by the shirt and attempted to take the phone.
The victim ran inside the Reveron at 402 West King Street on Monday and called dispatch saying a male was waiting outside to assault him and provided a description of the suspect.
A responding officer saw a male matching the description and followed him on foot but lost sight of the suspect.
As other officers arrived police were able to locate the suspect in the backyard of a residence on the 500 block of West King Street.
Police identified the suspect as a 17-year-old male and have filed a juvenile allegation for a single count of robbery against him.
