Officials locked down Jackson Elementary School in York City Tuesday morning after a five-year-old girl was reported missing from her kindergarten class, according to York Dispatch.
Police say the girl was dropped off by her father at Jackson Elementary School Tuesday morning and ate breakfast at the school but wasn't at her kindergarten class.
The school says they notified police and according to a dispatch supervisor at York County 911 Center they received the call for the missing girl at 9:49 a.m.
Police located the girl an hour later at Lincoln Charter School, nearly two miles away.
"We're still trying to figure out how the kid got out of Jackson and got all the way to Lincoln," said Captain Russ Tschopp. "As far as we can tell, she got a ride there from somebody."
Detectives are still investigating this case. Abc27 will provide new details when they are available.
