A Lancaster County man has pleaded guilty to abducting a 5-year-old girl and sexually assaulting her earlier this summer.
Harold Herr, 73, is sentenced to 50 to 100 years in state prison after pleading guilty Wednesday morning to kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and aggravated indecent assault.
Court documents allege Herr took the girl from her Lancaster Township yard and sexually assaulted her in July. Police said Herr let the girl go after two teens from her neighborhood spotted her in his car.
The victim submitted a video message to be played for Herr asking him to "stop taking little kids."
Herr, a registered sex offender, did not appear at his quarterly check-in under Megan's Law at the time of the abduction according to police.
He served 20 years in prison after being convicted of a nearly identical crime in 1990.
