LEOLA, Pa. (WHTM) -
East Lampeter Township Police have charged a female desk clerk after falsely reporting an armed robbery.
Officials say they responded to a reported armed robbery in the office of Zook's Motel on Main Street in Leola. When they arrived on scene the female desk clerk, Kimberly Buzzard, reported two males robbed her at gunpoint as she was counting the weekend receipts.
Police were unable to locate suspects or a suspect vehicle.
After investigating, officers discovered the victim had fabricated the robbery and took the money herself.
Buzzard was charged with false reports to law enforcement and theft by unlawful taking.
