PennDOT to clear Route 322 for Penn State traffic

LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

PennDOT said it will remove all lane restrictions on Route 322 near Lewistown in time for Penn State traffic on Friday.

Since Tuesday, westbound and eastbound traffic has been restricted to one lane in each direction between the Burnham and Reedsville exits in Mifflin County.

By early afternoon on Friday, two lanes will be open in each direction.

PennDOT spokeswoman Marla Fannin said drivers heading to Penn State before noon Friday should be alert for slowed traffic as the restrictions are removed.

Starting the week of Sept. 9, daylight lane restrictions will be in place intermittently, as remaining work takes place through the fall, Fannin said.

During the intermittent work, Fannin said PennDOT will remove any lane restrictions on Thursdays during Penn State home football game weekends.
