HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Harrisburg man is headed to trial for his escape from the Dauphin County Judicial and Booking Center.

Corey Deon Gray, 35, waived his preliminary hearing before a district judge Wednesday and allowed all charges to proceed to county court.

Gray was in a holding cell with another man who was scheduled to be released, and he apparently took that man's identification while he was sleeping and used it to make his escape July 26, according to authorities.

He was awaiting arraignment on charges of possession of a controlled substance, flight to avoid apprehension, DUI, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, driving with a suspended license, and summary traffic violations.

For leaving the booking center, located next to the county prison in Swatara Township, prosecutors additionally charged him with escape, identity theft, and theft by unlawful taking.
