LEWISBERRY, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 26-year-old Mechanicsburg man was injured in a shooting this afternoon at a York County home.

Trooper Robert Hicks, a state police spokesman, said the victim was accompanying his girlfriend as she tried to exchanged property with an ex-boyfriend in the 900 block of Kunkles Mill Road in Warrington Township.

During the attempt, Hicks said the ex-boyfriend shot the victim.

The victim and his girlfriend, a 26-year-old Duncannon woman, were able to escape the property and get help at a neighbors house, Hicks said.

He was taken to York Hospital for treatment of a single gunshot wound.

His condition is unknown at this time.

The shooter, a 31-year-old, was taken into custody by troopers.

Hicks did not immediately release the names of the victim or the suspect.
