This is one of those stories you love to hear.
A Cumberland County sailor who was deployed to Afghanistan for nearly nine months was reunited with his wife and kids Sunday. His wife made sure it was extra special reunion.
"I am a little nervous and excited," said Jill Cosenza, as she waited anxiously for her husband, Lt. Luis Cosenza, at Harrisburg International Airport.
Then, after more than eight months, the moment finally arrived. The Cosenzas hugged and cried tears of joy.
"Just happiness," said Lt. Cosenza. "Just knowing that it's over. Knowing that I'm not gonna have to worry. Being able to see her, being able to see my kids...It's the best feeling in the world."
Jill Cosenza wanted her husband's homecoming from Afghanistan to be extra special, so they arrived home in style in a limo.
The the most special moment was when Lt. Cosenza finally got to hold his boys, 6-year-old Antonio and 2-year-old Giovanni.
Once the family was back together again, it was off to the park for a special party to say welcome home and thanks for your service.
"One thing that kept driving me...thinking about stuff back home and Skyping with them and talking to them on the phone is one thing but definitely not the same as being able to hold them and talk to them in person," Lt. Cosenza said.
Once all the welcome home celebrations are over, the Cosenzas will head to the beach for a week to unwind and enjoy spending time together.
