Lower Paxton police investigating 2 armed robberies

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in suburban Harrisburg are investigating a pair of armed robberies.

Lower Paxton Township police said a township resident reported that he was robbed shortly after midnight Sunday while standing in a grassy area along the first block of Colonial Road.

The victim reported that two males, one with a handgun, approached him and demanded his backpack. He complied and the robbers ran into the Brook Apartments, police said.

The robber with the gun was described as a tall black male with a beard, weighing about 220 pounds, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap, police said.

No description of the second man was available.

In the second robbery Monday night, an employee of American Freight was robbed of the night deposit as he was walking to his car in the parking lot of the business at 6305 Allentown Blvd., police said.

The employee said the robber was dressed in all black, with a hood and a scarf covering his face, and was armed with a black handgun, according to police.

Authorities said at this time, there is no indication that the two incidents are related.
