The Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighters Association is warning residents of a possible fundraising scam.
The firefighters association said Wednesday that it has recently received several reports of solicitation efforts by phone and mail on its behalf.
The association does not solicit donations by mail or phone, has not approved the fundraising effort, and has not received any funds from the solicitation, officials said.
Anyone who receives a solicitation phone call or mail on behalf of the Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighters Association is asked to report it to CCVFA president Curtis Alleman by emailing email@example.com or calling 717-940-0702.
Anyone who has already given money should file a report with their local police department.
