The East Pennsboro School District has alerted parents to a possible child luring attempt outside the East Pennsboro Elementary School.
In a letter to parents, assistant superintendent Jay Burkhart said the district on Wednesday learned of incident Monday morning where a student walking up the driveway at arrival time was approached by a stranger who offered a ride.
The student did not know the man and declined the offer, Burkhart said.
The man in the car then continued to drive past the student without any further incident, according to the letter.
According to the district, the car was light blue in color and had a sticker of a bird on the gas cap, which was located on the driver's side of the vehicle, and the driver had dark hair in a pony tail and facial hair.
East Pennsboro police said they are investigating, but are "hesitant" to describe the incident as a possible child luring.
Anyone with information is asked to call East Pennsboro police at 717-732-3633.
