GIANT Food Stores LLC and MARTIN'S Food Markets have announced a recall involving PF Chang dumplings due to undeclared shellfish and fish.
PF Chang recalled their Home Menu Dumplings Pork and Leek frozen appetizers due to the presence of shrimp and polluck, both of which are allergens and are not mentioned on the ingredients label.
The dumplings are safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a Crustacean shellfish or fish allergy.
Giant is recalling dumplings under the following name: PF Chang's Pork & Leek Dumplings, 12.5 oz., UPC 3620021215, with use by dates of May 8 and 9, 2014.
Giant/Martin's has not received any reports of illnesses to date, but people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish or fish may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to GIANT/MARTIN'S for a full refund.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic. Allergic reactions can include: hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.
