Former Franklin Co. Teacher Will Serve 8 Yrs for Murder-for-Hire Plot

Posted:

Franklin Co., VA - The former Franklin County kindergarten teacher found guilty of trying to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband was sentenced to eight years in prison Friday afternoon.

Angela Nolen received a total sentence of 25 years but will be released to probation after serving 8.

Nolen and her friend Cathy Bennett, a nurse at the same school, tried to hire a hitman but ended up soliciting an undercover state trooper instead. A third friend went to police when the pair tried to get her to help, which led to the sting.

Bennett will be sentenced in October.
