Update: Suspect Wanted in Danville Hit and Run

Update: 10:00 a.m.:

Danville, VA - Danville Police have identified a suspect in a hit and run at the Cardinal Village Apartments Monday night.

An SUV crashed into one of the buildings. Now police say 22 year old Lawan Jamar Terry of Danville is wanted for six offenses, everything from driving with a suspended operator's license to reckless driving to a hit and run felony.

Danville, VA - Police are investigating a traffic accident on Chatham Avenue.

Just after 9:00 p.m. Monday, crews were called to the 500 block of Chatham Avenue.  There they found a black GMC Suburban hit the front of an apartment building.

Several people were in the building at the time, but no one was injured.  Crews checked the building and say it is structurally sound, but it did suffer roughly $10,000 in damage.

Police say the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.  If you any information about this accident, you are asked to call Danville Crimestoppers at 434-793-0000.

    Police in Lower Paxton Township are investigating another string of car and home break-ins.According to police, two homes on Wesley Driver were reported broken into.One home had cash from a wallet stolen, and a purse was reportedly rifled through.Police say entry was gained through an unlocked door.The second home did not have anything reported missing, but investigators say entry was gained by using a key which was left in a car parked in the driveway.In addition to these incidents, police s...More >>
