HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have filed charges against a Middletown man accused of pulling a knife and assaulting another man during an argument over a parking space.

Russell Hulstine Jr., 59, was awaiting arraignment Tuesday on charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment, according to Swatara Township police.

Hulstine on July 13 allegedly pulled a knife on another patron in the parking lot of the Sam's Club at 6781 Grayson Road and was swinging it back and forth as the patron retreated, police said.

As the patron was trying to get Hulstine's license plate number, Hulstine placed the vehicle in reverse and backed abruptly, grazing the leg of the patron as he tried to get out of the way, police said.

He then attempted to strike the patron with the front of the vehicle as he left the parking lot, police said.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 30.
